Daniel Levy is a man under pressure

Levy is now coming under a lot of scrutiny in light of Spurs’ recent struggles, with the Tottenham chairman being accused of failing to back another one of his managerial appointments.

This time, the criticism is not just coming from media figures and fans, but also from voices within Hotspur Way, with Cristian Romero directly pointing the finger at the club’s hierarchy for failing to invest as much as the other top sides in the Premier League.

A lot of Spurs fans will feel this has been a long time coming, with the 62-year-old being the common denominator during the club’s struggles.

How much has Levy earned as Spurs chairman

While it is known that Levy is the highest-paid director in the Premier League, Kieran Maguire has now revealed the full details of the amounts that the Tottenham supremo has been earning.

Maguire reveals that the Spurs chairman has earned more than £50m since taking over his role 23 years ago.

His earnings peaked in the 2018-19 season, which was the year that the club completed their move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Shareholders will be happy with what Levy has delivered

The first thing to realise is that Levy is not just the chairman of the club but also effectively a co-owner as he owns 29.4% of ENIC, the business which owns 85.6% of the club.

Further, Tottenham’s revenue has increased by hundreds of millions of pounds directly owing to the decisions that Levy has made and the changes he has implemented, which is why the shareholders would be happy to give him bonuses.

In truth, Levy’s earnings at the moment are not particularly high when considering his net wealth, with the 62-year-old earning less than many members of the Tottenham first-team squad.

The Spurs chairman’s big payday will come when ENIC finally complete a full sale of the club, which might be a few more years into the future.
