The Holiday Fantasy Flight takes kids in need on a trip to the North Pole
NEWARK, New Jersey (PIX11) – The Polar Express is a train that gets you to the North Pole but United Airlines is taking to the skies with its holiday tradition, sending kids and their families on a flight to Santa's workshop.
The airline hosted its annual Holiday Fantasy Flight for children in local hospitals on Saturday morning at Newark International Airport.
The event takes kids on a special flight to the “North Pole” where they’ll meet Santa and receive donated gifts.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Holiday Fantasy Flight by United Airlines. The initiative aims to spread cheer to children in need, especially during the holiday season.
“These are kids many of whom have never flown or may not have the opportunity to fly very often so we’re really excited to give them that experience,” said John Weigand, the Captain of Fantasy Flight.
