'Lack of self awareness': Outrage as Trump posts 'fat shaming' photo of fellow Republican

Donald Trump sparked outrage on Saturday when he shared what some called an offensive AI-generated image of a fellow Republican.

Trump has had an ongoing feud with former New Jersey governor Chris Christie for years.

Over the weekend, Trump posted a photo on X showing Christie eating several servings of McDonald's. The image also shows drones flying in more bags of fast food, drawing an allusion to the mystery drones that have been reported over the Garden State.

Critics responded on social media almost immediately.

Popular liberal influencer Spiro's Ghost said the "lack of self awareness and 4 year old mentality never ceases to amaze."

"I guess this is supposed to be funny because DJT isn't also Tubby McFatf--- who also stuffs his face with McD’s non-stop?" the account wrote Saturday.

Former Trump campaign aide A.J. Delgado said, "There's a deposition I have where someone claims that Jared and Christie buried the hatchet and Jared TOTES was over the whole 'Christie prosecution of his dad'... and, hm, no."

PatriotTakes, which says it is dedicated to "researching and monitoring" right-wing extremism "and other threats to democracy," responded, "Trump continues to fat shame Chris Christie."

"Trump is an embarrassment to the United States," the account added.

Popular liberal satire account Mrs. Betty Bowers called Trump an "immature bully."

"Mocking Chris Christie for being (a) out of shape and (b) eating McDonald's underscores that the Trumps are the least self-aware people on the planet."
