12/15/24: Snow is on it's way!

The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast by Meteorologist Jordan Due

The moral of the story for this morning's forecast. It's COLD! Frigid! Layers of winter clothing will be the move for today as temperatures try to climb up into the mid-30s by noon. However, we'll see a bit of sunshine to start the day. It'll soon cloud up by the afternoon, with rain and snow showers following shortly behind.

High temperatures today will be slightly above freezing today the more south you are. Those up north are still right around the freezing line. Snow is likely to arrive tonight after dinnertime and continue until Monday morning!

Futurecast is stalling the snow showers out, likely won't see flakes fall in Albany until 11PM-midnight. These snow showers will continue overnight until Monday morning. Coating the roads in that slushy, slippery snow, making Monday's morning commute look a bit dismal. After the morning snow showers taper by 8 AM-9 AM, mostly cloudy conditions will continue as some rain makes its way into the area by later Monday night.

Low temperatures tonight will be out of the teens (finally)! But it'll still be below freezing in many places, which could cause some of that snow to be even more slippery tomorrow morning.

Morning snow showers are the story for Monday, then overnight rain from Monday into Tuesday. Wednesday evening could get ugly with some mixed precipitation floating around, which could bring snow showers into Thursday morning. Could see some plus 40-degree days in the middle of next week but that trend is short-lived. By the weekend and first day of winter on Saturday, flurries will be the story with temps dropping back into the low-30s.
