Southwest jet and small plane shared same runway, says investigators

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Federal investigators said a Southwest Airlines jet ended up on the same runway as a small private plane that had stopped after an air traffic controller cleared both planes to land on the same California runway in October.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported this week that two planes came within 900 feet of each other before the smaller plane moved off the runway.
