Watch as James Argent is mocked by Towie co-stars for weight loss as he returns to show for Christmas special
TOWIE legend James Argent shows off his 13 stone weight loss, as he returns to the ITV Be show for the Christmas special.
But that doesn’t stop his co-stars Dan Edgar and Diags (James Bennewith) from having a little chuckle at their friend’s expense.
The lad’s are seen catching up at a Christmas tree farm in a clip from tonight’s Essexmas special, as they salute Arg’s return to the show after a six-year absence.
Dan Edgar quips: “He’s gone from 30 stone to pulling Mis Sweden.”
Referring to his stylish leather jacket, Arg says: “I am wearing mediums nowadays, but I used to be 5XL.”
Then Diags says: “So wait a minute am I the fattest man here?”
Dan then replies: “It seems like you are yeah.”
One of the show’s originals, Arg seemed in high spirits as he boasted about finding happiness with his stunning Swedish girlfriend, Nicoline Artursson, 31.
A former Miss Sweden model whom he met in Spain over the summer.
When asked about his relationship by Diags he said: “Do you know what I can’t complain, I am happy, I am healthy, life is good, I’ve pulled Miss Sweden.”
Indeed while the 37-year-old seems to have found his happy place, his battle with a binge-eating disorder, as well as drink and drugs, have been well documented over the years.
Once weighing in at 27-stone, the reality star was rushed to hospital in 2019, after his vast weight started to take its toll on his health.
Then in April 2021, he needed life saving gastric band surgery which then prompted him to lose 13 stone.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun earlier this year, James revealed that after he dropped the weight, he finally felt visible.
He said: “This is the first time in my life that I like the way I look too – I don’t feel ugly anymore – I’m content and happy with my appearance.
“The only problem now is I’ve lost a little bit too much weight and I need to put on half a stone.”
James Argent starred on the reality show form 2010 to 2018.
In October 2014 he was suspended from the series after he failed a drug test. He later attended rebab and returned to the screen in 2015.
From 2007, he was in a relationship with TOWIE cast member Lydia Bright from 2007 to 2012.
He then briefly dated Gemma Collins with whom he enjoyed an on and off relationship between 2017 and 2020.
From 2022 he was in a relationship with an Italian actress, Stella Turian who was 17 years his junior, but they broke up last November.
