Whitehall water safe to drink again, conservation efforts continue
WHITEHALL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Whitehall officials released an update regarding the state of emergency in the village on Sunday. The state of emergency is still in effect, however the boil water advisory has been lifted.
The village noted that while the water is now safe for drinking, anyone with compromised immune systems and similar medical ailments should follow their doctor's orders when it comes to drinking the water. Whitehall is still in a water deficit so village residents should be conserving water by taking short showers, running dishwashers and washing machines with only full loads, avoiding filling bathtubs and sinks, and limiting water usage appliances.
