Meg Ryan Gave Rare Details on Adopting Daughter Daisy in 2006: ‘Events Conspired to Bring Us Together'
Meg Ryan’s new era is all about being open about the things important to her like her children, staying true to herself, and more. In a recent, rare interview with The Sunday Times, Ryan talked about everything from plastic surgery speculation to her two adult children, Jack and Daisy. And in this telling, poignant interview, she discussed how she always figured she’d adopt one day.
“I always thought I’d adopt, and at various points I was on the brink of it,” she said to the outlet. “But it was particular to Daisy, I guess. I don’t know how events conspired to bring us together, but it was perfect.” Isn’t that so touching?!
She also didn’t hesitate to bring up what her private daughter has been up to, saying, “I’m a total anglophile and have this little London dream of living there one day. My daughter, she’s doing English literature at college here, but she’s hoping to study in Bath one day.” Truly, like mother, like daughter!
Now, back in Dec 2023, she repeated the same sentiments about her daughter Daisy being destined to be her daughter. She told Glamour, “I’m convinced of magic because of our relationship. We were destined.”
As many fans know, Ryan has two children in total. She welcomed a son named Jack Quaid in April 1992 with her ex-husband Dennis Quaid, and later, she adopted a girl named Daisy True in early 2006, who was born in 2004.
In a super-rare interview with People, the When Harry Met Sally icon talked about how she approached parenting her children Jack and Daisy True. She revealed that she asks herself three questions to ensure they’re living their best lives: “Are they inspired? Are they happy? Are they safe?”
