Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged democratic forces to oppose the "one nation, one election" bill, calling it an attempt to impose a presidential form of government. He argued the bill threatens India's diversity, democracy, and Constitution by removing checks and balances provided by periodic elections and diminishing the significance of state elections.
