Indore: Giving money to beggars may now land you in jail as city terms it a crime starting next year

Indore city is going beggar-free. Authorities will register FIRs against those giving alms from January 1, 2025. An awareness campaign will run throughout December. Officials urge residents not to give alms. The administration has rehabilitated many beggars. Indore is part of a national pilot project to eliminate begging in ten cities.
