Arsenal out-on-loan star Nuno Tavares at Lazio has revealed that, in his view, Gunners captain Martin Odegaard is a player of ‘a ‘crazy level’.
The north London giants paid £8m to Portuguese side Benfica back in 2021 for Tavares but his time at the Gunners has not gone according to plan.
He is currently in good form at Serie A club Lazio and they have an obligation to buy him if some conditions are met during the course of the loan.
Odegaard came to Arsenal in 2021 as well, initially on loan from Real Madrid, before the Gunners signed him permanently in August of the same year.
He has been a linchpin in Mikel Arteta’s system and Tavares, who played some matches with the Norwegian in the 2021/22 season, insisted that Odegaard is at ‘a crazy level’.
“There are definitely a lot of them”, Tavares told Lazio’s media when he was asked about the best players he has played with.
Even though Tavares namechecked other players, he is clear that Gunners captain Odegaard is at another level.
“I think of [Granit] Xhaka, [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Nicolas] Otamendi, but Odegaard is of a crazy level.”
Odegaard has registered almost 60 goal contributions for the Gunners in his 131 Premier League appearances.
