Lady Gaga Sang ‘Christmas Tree’ As a Gift for Us
Lady Gaga has a Christmas gift for you — and it’s delicious. The pop star sang her fan-favorite holiday song “Christmas Tree” for the first time in 16 years, giving us a dirty little dose of Christmas spirit. Now, it was just for Carpool Karaoke, but we’ll take what we can get! Gaga popped into the SUV for the surprise A Carpool Karaoke Christmas special (on Apple TV), joining guest driver Zane Lowe, filling in for the usual James Corden. Lowe feigned surprise and horror at the raunchy Christmas song’s lyrics, before he ended up taking Space Cowboy’s verse. Like any reputable pop fan wouldn’t know this song.

Gaga was one of three guests on the special, along with Chappell Roan and Dua Lipa. Lowe picked up Roan in Missouri, where he met her parents — and a chicken named Lady Gaga — at their farm. In a sweet moment, Roan’s parents got emotional talking about how proud they are of her while singing along to “Pink Pony Club.” Lipa, of course, was off in Tokyo, where she went Christmas shopping with Lowe and sang “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” which is not a Christmas song but does have spirit. Lipa did also sing “Sleigh Ride,” while Roan belted along to “Last Christmas.” But really, it was Gaga who carried the Christmas spirit of the special, also dropping a rock cover of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” that she debuted onscreen. Christmas just came early for the Little Monsters.
