Asian-fusion bar and restaurant opens in New Albany

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WCMH) -- Bendi Wok N' Bar opened its second location last week, welcoming New Albany residents to try its pan-Asian-inspired food and beverages.

The restaurant is owned by Orange Umbrella Restaurant Group, the company behind Local Cantina and other popular Columbus spots. The New Albany expansion maintains the menu behind its original location in German Village, while adding new items for diners.

Bendi Wok announced the openly suddenly, with a same-day invitation to its grand opening Thursday on its social media. Posts from that evening showed a warm ambiance inside the space, with purple walls, red lighting, hanging lights and an artificial cherry blossom tree above the bar.

According to Ana Lowe, Orange Umbrella's marketing director, the New Albany location offers new items like fresh bao buns, Boba tea and an expanded non-alcoholic menu. Although the German Village spot offers just three non-alcoholic beverages, the New Albany menu boasts seven options, including herbal CBD tea, Saratoga waters and Japanese soft drink Ramune.

“Our goal with this new location is to build on everything our guests love about Bendi, while
also creating unique offerings to make each visit unforgettable,” George Tanchevski,
Orange Umbrella Restaurant Group owner, said. “This expansion is just the beginning -- we’re
excited to explore more ways to delight our guests with our menus and locations.”

Located at 160 W. Main St., Bendi Wok N Bar New Albany will be open at 11 a.m. every day, closing at 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 9 p.m. on Sundays.
