Tonawanda woman sentenced to 9 years for receipt of child pornography
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Tonawanda woman was sentenced to nine years in prison after sexual images and videos of a 14-year-old victim were found on her phone, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Monday.
According to officials, 30-year-old Maria D'Amato received the child pornography on her phone from the female victim in June 2022. The two communicated via text and Snapchat. Officials said D'Amato met the victim through another 14-year-old.
D'Amato recorded her and the victim engaging in sexual acts on her phone and the victim's phone, officials said. Officials said she would then request that the videos be sent to her.
D'Amato was charged with production of child pornography via criminal complaint in Feb. 2023.
