Court docs: Strip club DJ hospitalized after being stabbed by dancer

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A DJ at Casa Diablo, a vegan strip club in Northwest Portland, is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed several times by a stripper, court documents said.

On Dec. 8, Duncan Allen was DJing at the club when Payton Lathan, a dancer, walked up behind him and stabbed him several times in the back, according to the documents.

"I felt the largest pressure I think I've ever had in my life," Allen said. "It felt like a 500-pound muscular man punching me in the back."

Allen managed to get to the club's kitchen, where staff called 911 while keeping pressure on the wounds.

When asked why Lathan would stab him, court documents said that Allen thought she had a "mental break."

According to Portland police, officers at the scene saw two stab wounds on Allen's back and another one under his left armpit.

Security video from the scene shows Lathan walk up behind Allen while he was in the DJ booth, where she stood for a few seconds before pulling the knife out of her sleeve and stabbing him before fleeing the club, court documents said.

After the stabbing Lathan was found hiding in bushes nearby where she was taken into custody.

Officers at the scene said they found two black and silver knives on the ground nearby, one of which had a red stain on the tip.

Court documents claim that during the arrest Lathan said she was "pleading insanity," and she also claimed that Allen is a drug dealer and that "you will find zero trace of alcohol and drugs in my body."

Lathan is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
