Nita Ambani doesn’t miss an opportunity to purchase some of the best silk sarees. She herself is a custodian of elegant kanjeevaram silks which she pairs with her iconic jewellery collection. This time, she went to one of Bengaluru’s famous shops that preserves 600-year-old heritage weaving techniques. This shop is ‘The House of Angadi’. This is a Bengaluru-based heritage store that is known to harness the traditions of centuries-old weaves for nearly 600 years. On their official social media page, they shared Nita Ambani little note for the luxury brand and a kodak moment she shared with the Angadi Galleria founder K Radharaman.
In the video shared by a fan page, she can be seen stepping out with tight security with her hands folded to greet the onlookers.
But how is this heritage store connected with Deepika Padukone? Going back in time, in November 2018, the ‘Pathaan’ actress got married to Ranveer Singh in a traditional Konkani wedding. She served an elegant bridal look in a burnt orange pure kanjeevaram silk saree. It was from this shop in Bengaluru. Deepika’s bridal saree for her wedding was a real zari Kanjivaram brocade. The body design is the Gandaberunda (or two headed bird) the mythological figure which is representative of the state of Karnataka. The two headed bird represents prosperity and wisdom i.e Material Wealth and Spiritual Wealth. It was very symbolic for the bride to have chosen this sari according to K Radharaman.
Not just the bridal look, but the ivory and gold saree from her reception day was also from the same collection.
On her trip to Bengaluru for the Women’s Premier League auction, the Chairperson of Reliance Industries made time for a quick saree shopping.
