US finalises $406 million chips subsidy for Taiwan's GlobalWafers

The subsidy will support nearly $4 billion in investments by GlobalWafers in Texas and Missouri to build new wafer manufacturing plants, generating 1,700 construction jobs and 880 manufacturing jobs. These wafers are essential for advanced semiconductors and are part of the Biden administration's strategy to strengthen the domestic semiconductor supply chain.
