Major supermarket chain slashes price of vegetables to just 10p a bag – the lowest price ever
A MAJOR supermarket has slashed the price of vegetables to just 10p a bag ahead of Christmas.
Morrisons is slashing the price of Christmas veg from tomorrow and the offer makes it cheaper than any other supermarket.
From Wednesday, More Card holders can grab a kilo of carrots, 500g of parsnips, 500g of sprouts and a whole swede, all for a mere 10p each.
Shoppers will also be able to snag a 2kg bag of British Best potatoes for half price at just £1.15.
The offer will running from December 18 until Christmas Eve and means you can load up their trolley with all the trimmings without emptying their wallet.
Fraser Lovatt, category director of produce and horticulture at Morrisons, said: “No Christmas dinner is complete without all the trimmings of the seasonal vegetables.
“By cutting the costs of products like carrots, parsnips, sprouts and potatoes, we are helping customers get all they need for the perfect festive roast without breaking the bank.
“Selling more of these products also stops them from going to waste and enables us to give more back to our important network of British farmers.”
Morrisons is also slashing prices on other Christmas favourites.
From tomorrow, shoppers will be able to get half-price deals on Market Street Whole Salmon at £7.50/kg and Charles De Villiers Champagne Brut at £12.50 for More Card holders.
Plus, customers will be able to pick up a bottle of Sorso Prosecco Spumante for just £4.75.
What is the Morrisons More Card scheme?
THE Morrisons More Card is a loyalty scheme where customers earn points on almost everything they buy in-store and online, which can be converted into vouchers.
For every item purchased, shoppers receive five points. Once they accumulate 5,000 points, they get a £5 voucher to spend at Morrisons.
Besides earning points, More Card holders also benefit from exclusive discounts and special offers.
Customers can sign up for a digital card via the app or website, or request a physical card. Points are collected by scanning the card or app at checkout.

HOW DOES IT COMPARE?
Morrisons’ 10p veg offer is the cheapest among major supermarkets this Christmas.
While other supermarkets are offering Christmas vegetables for 15p, Morrisons has undercut them all.
Other supermarkets, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Aldi, and Lidl, have similar promotions with prices starting at 15p, but some also require a loyalty card.

From Thursday, December 19, to Tuesday, December 24, Asda shoppers can bag these vegetables for just 15p each in-store or online.
