Season of Giving Recap
Penticton, B.C. – The Penticton Vees second annual Season of Giving has wrapped up and with an overwhelming response from our community.
Through several fundraising events with local partners, the Vees are happy to announce they have helped raised $3,500 in donations, over 3,500 pounds of food, 1,500 plus stuffed toys, over 1,100 winter outwear items for children and adults, and 200 packages of diapers.
The donations were collected over the last six weeks during the Vees Season of Giving, which began in early November with the first annual IGA Feed the Need food drive. The generosity continued in November, with RE/MAX in the South Okanagan’s Coats for Kids campaign. The Season of Giving concluded at the Vees’ annual Bannister Chevrolet Teddy & Toque Toss earlier this month, in support of the Penticton Salvation Army Community Food Bank and Shop of Wonders.
“We were beyond thrilled with the response from our community over the last six weeks,” began Vees’ Vice President of Business Operations, Fraser Rodgers. “So many people put a lot of work in behind the scenes, donating their time to make this all come together. We are very grateful for our campaign partners who continue to step up and give back to those in need.”
The Vees organization expresses their sincere appreciation to Market Place IGA, Summerland IGA, RE/MAX in the South Okanagan, Bannister Chevrolet, Bannister Kia, the South Okanagan Events Centre, and volunteers for their tireless work and dedication.
The Vees are wishing all their fans, sponsors, billets, and volunteers a very happy holiday season. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the rink on Saturday, December 28th, when we host the Blackfalds Bulldogs at the SOEC.
