Ticket-holders are analysing the tour schedules for all manner of artists and trying to work out whose align with the weekend of June 27.

One act that has now caught the attention of fans is Aussie electronic-rock band Pendulum.

Many are hoping the group will bring their heavy drum and bass to Pilton after spotting that they have gigs in Halifax and Scarborough in the build-up to the festival.

One person wrote in a forum: “Pendulum are around at the right time.”

Another said: “Pendulum are always great live. Would love this. I could see them taking a West Holts Sunday night headline spot à la Justice.”

A third wrote: “God, if pendulum and the prodigy are both there I will be absolutely made up. Fingers crossed.”

A fourth said: “Ohhh this would be incredible.”

Pendulum shot to prominence in 2005 with the release of debut album Hold Your Colour.

They took a rockier turn for 2008 follow up In Silico after beefing up their ranks with guitarist Peredur ap Gwynedd, MC Ben Mount, and drummer Paul Kodish.

The LP charted at number two in the UK and featured the live favourite Tarantula.

More success followed the release of album three, Immersion. It contained their highest-charting single to date, Watercolour, which was chosen as influential DJ Zane Lowe’s record of the week upon its release.

The group went on hiatus in 2012 and splintered into a group called Knife Party.

After a series of special reunions, Pendulum became a fully functioning group once again in 2017.

They have since released two EPs Elemental and Anima, whose lead single Halo featured guest vocals from Bullet for my Valentine rocker Matt Tuck.
