Jamie Foxx Gets Into Altercation With 'Jackass' Crew Members

More details are emerging about a bloody altercation Jamie Foxx got into at a birthday dinner in Beverly Hills, which resulted in police being called and Foxx getting stitches. And it seemingly involves crew members from the production company behind the Jackass franchise

As previously reported by CNN, Foxx was injured when he was allegedly assaulted with a deadly weapon at Mr. Chow's restaurant over the weekend. "Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth," his spokesperson said. “He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands."

A new TMZ report, citing "multiple sources with direct knowledge" of the situation, reveals Foxx was celebrating his 57th birthday with about 50 family and friends when the incident occurred. Given that the actor recently survived a life-threatening stroke, which he details in his new Netflix special, What Happened Was…, there was certainly reason to celebrate.

However, while Foxx's party was going on downstairs in the restaurant, the upstairs VIP section had been rented out for a holiday party by Dickhouse Productions, the production company run by Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze. Though, sources reported that none of the stars of the franchise were on-hand, and that attendees included crew members.

At some point in the evening, some of the VIP members were said to have sent a drink to Foxx, which he accepted but did not drink. The waiter reportedly informed him that about a dozen attendees at the party upstairs were trying to get his attention, telling him, "They are waving at you, wave back."

A source told TMZ that Foxx's party was confused when they saw the party was laughing, and then noticed that someone was pointing a penis-shaped laser down onto their table.

Foxx was said to have been upset, considering his children were at the table, reportedly exclaiming, "In front of my daughters?" He then went upstairs to confront the VIP party, which is when all hell broke loose.

During the altercation, which was said to have been "tense" and "at times, physical," a Jackass Forever crew member allegedly threw a heavy drinking glass at Foxx, which hit him in the face and cut his mouth. Foxx reportedly asked the party, "It's my birthday, what is wrong with you?" and then left the restaurant to get stitches for his face.

Things reportedly continued to escalate after Foxx left, and eventually the restaurant staff called the police. Though the Ray star was gone by the time officers arrived on the scene, he has reportedly since spoken to authorities about what happened. Law enforcement sources would only confirm to TMZ that people from the production company were involved in the incident and that an investigation is underway.

Foxx has not commented on the altercation, but over the weekend he shared an Instagram post that read, "The devil is busy, but I'm too blessed to be stressed," plugging his comedy special in the caption.

For its part, Dickhouse Productions is denying the allegations. Attorney Bryan Freedman, who is representing the production company, said in a statement: "Although the crew has the greatest respect for Jamie, the version of events that has been presented is totally inaccurate and deeply unfair to those attending their holiday celebration that night."
