Qantas agrees on 76-mln-USD compensation for illegally dismissed workers

SYDNEY, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Australia's flag airline Qantas has agreed to pay compensation to over 1,800 workers who were illegally dismissed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The carrier announced on Tuesday night it has reached an agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) to pay the former ground handlers a combined 120 million Australian dollars (76 million U.S. dollars).
