Content delivery networks oppose move to regulate them, say they are outside Trai ambit

Content delivery companies like Netflix and Amazon are resisting regulation by the telecom authority. Industry bodies argue that CDNs only cache and deliver content. They do not establish end-to-end communication like telecom operators. CDNs are customers of telecom providers or use private networks. They don't provide bandwidth and thus fall outside the scope of telecom regulations.
