Santa visits A Child's Place to promote reading

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Santa Claus made an early stop to the Capital Region on Tuesday. He visited A Child's Place at Unity House in Troy and Albany.

Each child was gifted a picture book called "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. It tells the story of a young boy going on a snowy adventure after losing his mitten.

The event was meant to spread some holiday cheer and promote a love of reading.
