Denzel Washington’s daughter Katia stuns fans as she makes rare red carpet appearance with very tall wife
DENZEL Washington’s daughter Katia has stunned fans while making a rare red carpet appearance with her tall wife, Colleen Wilson.
The pair were together at the Critics Choice Association’s 7th Annual Celebration Of Black Cinema And Television, which took place on December 9 in Los Angeles.
Katia is Denzel’s eldest daughter, and following her dad’s footsteps, she too works in the film industry.
Katia is a movie producer, and she cut a stylish figure for the annual celebration, wearing a khaki suit and shiny shoes.
And Katia’s wife Colleen, who is a former ballerina, also looked stunning, as she wowed in a black gown with net detail.
Colleen and Katia looked delighted to be at the event, and posed for photos together on the turquoise carpet.
TikTok users were captivated by the pair’s height difference though, and were amazed to learn that Denzel’s daughter’s wife is reportedly 6ft4, while his daughter is 5ft2.
One person penned: “Ya’ll are trippen over that being his daughter, I’m trying to figure out HOW TALL IS HER WIFE???! Gaaaaaadamn!”
And a second added: “’Is she really short or is her wife just really tall?”
A third wrote: “How tall is she!!!!” and a fourth said: “The height difference is crazy. As a tall girl I love that she is still wearing her heels.”
Denzel, 69, has been in acting in Hollywood for around 40 years.
In that time, he’s starred in dozens of critically acclaimed and highly successful movies in a variety of genres.
He has been nominated for Academy Awards ten times, winning twice.
And Katia’s mum is Pauletta Pearson, who he met on the set of his first screen work, the television film Wilma in 1977.
The former couple have four children: John David, Katia, and twins Olivia and Malcolm.
Pauletta and Denzel began dating in the late 1970s and married in 1983.
Pauletta is best known for her roles in Philadelphia, Antwone Fisher, and Steps.
She is the sister of actress Rita Pearson, who has also starred in films with Denzel Washington.
Denzel confessed to Access Hollywood in 2013 that he proposed more than once because Pauletta turned him down a few times.
“Why was it twice? Why would I have to ask again?” Denzel said to Pauletta.
“Because I said no!” Pauletta replied.
“You heard it here first!” Denzel joked.
“She turned me down, she said no, and since it was three times, that means she turned me down twice.”
They renewed their vows in 1995 in South Africa in a ceremony officiated by cleric Desmond Tutu.
