Bill Gates firm gives $40 million for Canadian carbon tech test bed

Bill Gates's Breakthrough Energy has granted $40 million to Deep Sky, a startup creating a Canadian testing ground for Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies. The "Alpha" site in Alberta will host eight companies testing and refining their carbon removal methods, starting next spring.
