Here’s the MMFF Parade of Stars 2024 route

MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the Parade of Stars for the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will be held in Manila on December 21.

This year’s MMFF lineup includes 10 films, continuing the expanded lineup trend first done in 2023. The films included for this year are the following:

  • Himala, Isang Musikal
  • The Kingdom
  • Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital
  • Espantaho
  • Hold Me Close
  • My Future You
  • Topakk
  • Uninvited

The parade will kick off at 2 pm at the Kartilya ng Katipunan and will traverse the following route: 

  • Natividad Lopez Street
  • Right at P. Burgos Street
  • Straight towards Jones Bridge
  • Quintin Paredes Street 
  • Reina Regente Street
  • Pass through Recto Avenue
  • Abad Santos Avenue, Tayuman Street
  • Lacson Avenue – España Boulevard
  • Nicanor Reyes Street (Morayta)
  • C.M. Recto Avenue
  • Legarda Street
  • P. Casal Street
  • Ayala Boulevard
  • Taft Avenue
  • T.M. Kalaw Street
  • Roxas Boulevard
  • Magallanes Drive
  • Manila Central Post Office

The parade will end at the Manila Central Post Office, where fans can enjoy a free concert and performances from the stars of this year’s lineup of entries.

Last year’s parade was held in Camanava, where the parade ran for 8.7 kilometers and certain roads were closed to make way for the float parade. MMDA personnel were also deployed to ensure crowd control and safety. 

The MMFF 2024 runs from December 25, 2024 to January 7, 2025, in cinemas nationwide. 

This year’s MMFF is expected to be an even grander celebration as it marks the 50th anniversary of the film festival. In celebration, the MMFF previously held the “Sine Sigla sa Singkwenta” campaign, which showcased 50 classic MMFF films in theaters nationwide for only P50 per screening last September 25 to October 15. – Rowz Fajardo/Rappler.com
