Mechanics Name Their Most Hated Cars to Work On

When you have to take your car into the shop, your mechanic might be elated or disappointed to work on your car depending on the manufacturer. Workers at one body shop in Colorado are sharing their honest thoughts on their least favorite types of cars to work on.

Accurate Automotive in Northglenn, Colorado just shared a TikTok probing its employees about their most hated car brands to work on. The answers spanned a variety of names and continents of origin, but one pattern appeared to emerge: European autos aren't exactly fun to work on.

"A Subaru's not my most hated car, but a Volkswagen definitely is," one person said.

"For me, anything European," another chimed in. One mechanic simply stated "Volvos."

"I would say foreign vehicles are a nightmare," another person said. That isn't limited by continent, as he affirmed that it goes for both European and Japanese cars like Honda and Toyota

Many European brands are regarded as high-end in the U.S., while others such as Volkswagen might be more geared to a daily driver. This includes BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Porsche, Land Rover, Mini, Alfa Romeo, and Jaguar. According to LeMans Motors, European brands are usually more expensive to service and maintain, which might not be at the top of buyers' minds when they drive off the lot but might come back to bite them down the road.
