Lancaster man sentenced to 24 years for new child pornography charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Lancaster man was sentenced to serve 24 years and four months in prison for a new child pornography charge after having a prior child pornography conviction, the United States Attorney's Office announced.

Officials said on June 9 and 10, 2023, 30-year-old Christopher Gostick was in attendance at a sleepover birthday party when he kissed a 9-year-old victim on the lips.

The victim then told her parents and police responded to the residence, taking cellphones and a tablet that belonged to Gostick, who is the victim's uncle.

On one of the cellphones, officials said a video of the 9-year-old using the bathroom was uncovered.

On another cellphone, police also found a screen recording of a Snapchat conversation between Gostick and a second minor victim, who was 10 years old at the time. Gostick was posing as an 11-year-old female during the conversation and told the 10-year-old to send him a sexually explicit video, which the minor did.

Approximately 613 images and two videos containing child pornography were found on Gostick's devices, the attorney's office said.

Gostick pleaded guilty back in June to receipt of child pornography.

In August 2019, Gostick was convicted on a state charge of attempted possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16.
