Active play was at the heart of the Breeze EcoPlay Olympics
Play is an important part of being a kid. But sometimes, dirt, mess, and the ever-tricky mantsa can get in the way of being immersed in the game. Luckily, there are ways to make every playtime the best time.
This year’s EcoPlay Olympics held at the Marikina Sports Center taught students the power of teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience by overcoming these natural messes.
Over 700 students from elementary schools in Marikina came together for a morning packed with Filipino games. Presented by Knowledge Channel Foundation and Breeze, the event’s theme of ‘Sige sa Mantsa, Tuloy ang Laro’ embraced the spirit of active play while teaching important life lessons.
The energy was palpable from the moment the games began, with the Grade 4, 5, and 6 Marikina students giving their all for Tumbang Preso, Patintero, Sipa, Agawang Base, and more.
“Ang mantsa ay parte ng proseso ng matuto,” said Breeze premium laundry performance manager, Lara Santos. “Ngayon face-to-face na lahat, naniniwala kami na magandang opportunity ito na matuto sa labas ng silid-aralan.”
[“Stains are part of the learning process. “Without Marikina, there would be no EcoPlay today. Now that everything is face-to-face, we believe this is a good opportunity to learn outside the classroom.”]
The fun isn’t limited to Marikina, either. They also have an upcoming Palarong Pinoy in Taguig-Pateros and Quezon City with more than 2,000 students expected to join.
Aside from the games, the EcoPlay Olympics also spotlighted sustainability with their eco-garden competition, which was won by the Kapitan Moy Elementary School. They were given a brand-new Skyworth TV.
Meanwhile, H. Bautista Elementary School came out on top as the overall champion of the day, but the participants didn’t go home empty-handed.
Breeze and Haier will award over 20 Smart TVs to category winners during the event, with each School Division Office receiving 9 units. Marikina’s School Division Office was the first recipient of this generous initiative during the EcoPlay Olympics, while the Taguig-Pateros (TaPat) and Quezon City School Division Offices are set to receive their Smart TVs in January 2025.
Midea also gave away a Midea washing machine unit to a lucky parent raffle winner at the Marikina event, making it even easier to fight stains with the help of Breeze. Parent attendees in the upcoming EcoPlay Olympics events in Taguig-Pateros and Quezon City can also look forward to washing machine giveaways, courtesy of Breeze’s washing machine partners, Dowell and Fujidenzo.
Ultimately, the Breeze EcoPlay Olympics let the kids be kids and encouraged them to celebrate both their wins and losses. As the students wiped away their sweat and dirt after the tiring morning, it served as a reminder that though life can get messy, they have the inner strength and reliable solutions like Breeze to keep on playing. – Rappler.com
