Plans for new dog park in Coxsackie moving forward
COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Plans to turn a former industrial site into a dog park in Coxsackie are moving forward. The mayor said crews started laying down the base of the park last week.
Construction will pause during the winter to allow the base to settle. The mayor said they plan to put in a water line and fencing for small dog and large dog areas.
The site used to belong to American Valve Manufacturing. Environmental regulators spent years cleaning up soil contamination.
Officials said they are excited to turn it into a community space. A public meeting is scheduled to take place in January.
