Women's Health Wednesday: Managing holiday stress
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Christmas is a week away and it's crunch time for many moms who are still trying to get everything done in time for the big day.
In this week's Women's Health Wednesday, we're discussing how you can keep a focus on health and wellness at a time when it seems like there is no time.
Jennifer Yager, DO, is a Psychiatrist with the Albany Medical Health System. She says women are especially struggling this time of year. She says mindfulness can help. This means being aware of your emotions and reaching out for help when you need it.
Dr. Yager also talks about coping with stress using food and alcohol. She says women are more likely than men to turn to these things to help them get through the stress of the holidays. The best way to get ahead of this habit, is to get ahead of this by preparing easy healthy meals to avoid grabbing the unhealthy options.
