Women Who Take the Dangerous Abortion Pill Find It More Painful Than Expected

NBC News ran a story recently about a study that revealed that (surprise), women who take the abortion pill find the experience to be more painful than they expected.

Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood director and founder of And Then There Were None and ProLove Ministries who had a medication abortion herself, released the following statement:

“It’s about time a study like this has been released because women aren’t being told the truth about what happens during a medication abortion or the true extent of the pain they may feel. While NBC News tried to downplay the study, women who have experienced an abortion pill abortion are going to feel seen. I hope they will realize that they were never told the truth about their medication abortion and that, unfortunately, their desperation was seen as a moneymaker by the abortion industry. That’s certainly how I felt when I was given the abortion pills and sent on my merry way, only to find out later the absolute horror of what a medication abortion looked like.

“Sending these pills through the mail to women in desperate situations isn’t helping them. They need to be truly empowered, to have someone tell them that they can do this and get through it and come out stronger in the end for saying yes to life. I founded Loveline for this very purpose, a ministry that walks with women who need help and have no one else to go to. I get being in a desperate situation and wanting an abortion but there are so many better options for women that will help them find true empowerment.”

Abby’s story was told in the feature film, Unplanned, which was released in 2019. The film was rated R due to the scene that depicts her medication abortion.
