DFC spreads some Christmas Joy on hospital visit
DFC brought some Christmas joy to a children’s ward at Darenth Valley Hospital this week.
Geoff Ashburn, Micky Austin and Gary Clark from the Supporters’ Association were joined by first team manager Ady Pennock and players Olly Box and Sam Odaudu, as they visited children on Willow Ward.
The children – who are in hospital now and over Christmas – were given presents and chocolate selection packs.
The Supporters’ Association donated £500-worth of gifts and cash, split between the children’s ward and the special babies’ ward. A sum of £250 was donated to the Little Buds fundraising scheme, one of the chosen charities of Mayor Andy Lloyd this year, who was also present on the visit.
A huge thanks to all supporters who have supported the association over the year with their fundraising activities which help make these visits possible – and also to Ady and the players for giving up their time.
Thanks also to club physio Dave Philips and his wife Jean for their kind donations of gifts for the children.
KMTV were also in attendance and the segment can be watched here https://www.kentonline.co.uk/kmtv/video/dartford-fc-donate-christmas-presents-to-sick-children-in-hospital-61822/
