South Korean gem has arrived at Tottenham

Many in Korea are excited about Yang‘s potential, with the teenager being one of the standout players in the K-League in 2024 in what was his first year of professional football.

However, the step he will now take is a massive one, with the pacy winger now set to arrive in the most difficult competition in world football – the Premier League.

The 18-year-old can take some optimism from the fact that he will be joining a squad which has more than its fair share of teenage talents and will be playing for a manager who enjoys nurturing youngsters.

Son has now admitted that he is excited that the Tottenham newcomer is coming to N17, revealing that the winger is not scared about what he is going to face in London.

However, the Spurs captain stressed that the wide man is a raw talent like Mikey Moore, and called on the supporters not to expect too much of him straightaway.

When asked about Yang’s arrival, Son told The Standard: “I don’t want people to get too excited. There’s not any pressure [on him].

“He’s a similar age to Mikey Moore. Everyone loves Mikey and when Yang is here I hope everyone loves him like Mikey. He’s been fantastic in his first season in the K-League, scoring 12 goals and a lot of assists. He’s bright. He’s not scared.

“He’s a very bright player so I’m excited he’s coming here and I’ll try to help him as much as I can. But we just have to avoid putting pressure on him. The football side is the most important thing for him [to focus on].”
