VW talks drag into the night as union says outcome is 'far from clear'

HANOVER, Germany: Volkswagen management and labor representatives held late-night talks on December 16 to discuss cost cuts before Christmas, with unions saying it was still unclear if they would reach a compromise.

The talks ended early the next morning after about 13 hours without an agreement, but a spokesperson for the IG Metall union said they would continue later that day.

The two sides disagreed o
