Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Party Is More Proof That Travis Kelce Is the Perfect Match for Her

For anyone who still thinks that Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce is a PR setup, it might be time to put that theory to bed for good. The dynamic duo has proven time and again to be each other’s biggest supporters — and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end outdid himself this time.

It was Kelce who threw the pretty amazing Eras Tour party with the guests dressed in their favorite Swift looks. Brittany Mahomes nailed the assignment with her epic tribute to her bestie’s Midnights album with a silver fringe minidress and her hubby, Patrick Mahomes, took a page from Kelce’s London cameo with a top hat and tails. While some fans thought the event was a 35th birthday celebration for Swift,  Jo-Jo Edwards-Helaire, the wife of Chiefs player Clyde Edwards-Helaire, clarified the situation. 

“It was, a congratulations party. And a surprise from Trav,” Edwards-Helaire wrote in the comments of a post. Consider the fiesta a combination celebration — a birthday and wrap party in one! Swift worked hard over the last two years, delivering the most successful pop tour in history with over $2 billion in ticket sales alone. Kelce honored that accomplishment because he was thrilled to see her succeed. 

Swift felt the same way and told her fans exactly that in a December 2023 interview with Time, even though it was early in their relationship. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.” Neither Swift nor Kelce has wavered from that philosophy.

The party comes on the heels of insiders sharing that the couple will be keeping their relationship low-key over the next few months. “Taylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that’s when] the little nuances about someone’s personality and habits come into play. They will learn so much about each other,” a source told Us Weekly in early December. Yes, Swifties want an engagement, but Swift and Kelce “aren’t rushing” things. 

“Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style,” the insider continued. “That’s just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.”
