Heavy police presence near I-10: Here's what we know
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Lafayette Police Department was searching for a suspect after performing a traffic stop on behalf of another law enforcement agency, authorities said.
A heavy police presence was reported close to I-10. Lafayette police said the suspect of the traffic stop did not comply and fled from the scene. A perimeter next to I-10 and the neighboring streets of South Richer Drive was established to find the suspect.
Lafayette police did not identify the other law enforcement agency involved.
No other information about the suspect or the traffic stop was immediately released.
As of 9:30 p.m. tonight, no arrest has been made, authorities said.
