Photographer: Lucy Hunter Summary Author: Lucy Hunter
The photo above shows a dazzling aurora I observed in early October over Lake Superior and Marquette Harbor (foreground), framed by the Marquette Harbor Lighthouse. These northern lights resulted from a moderate level geomagnetic storm and were visible over much of central and western Canada as well as the northern tier of the contiguous U.S. Photo taken during evening astronomical twilight on October 7, 2024.
