A Seahawks spiral, more Jets misery, Steelers success in Baltimore and the best NFL bets of Week 16

In past years, anytime the Rhode Island Scumbag and I doubled up on a pick, it was a disaster. Since we come up with our locks separately, there were a few cases of overlap — overlap that came with a 25 percent win rate between 2022 and 2023.

But in 2024 we swapped out one Rhode Island Scumbag for another and swapped out our luck at the same time. Not only has our new NFL betting expert thrived as the season worn on, but our shared picks have won at a ludicrous rate. Since whiffing on a Week 2 Los Angeles Rams pick, we’re 7-0 on bets we’ve both highlighted as value plays.

That’s left me mildly profitable, but our Scumbag friend has been absolutely thriving. He’s up 12 units on the year and 11 over his last five weeks. This means a) you should tail whatever picks we agree on and b) if not, you should tail his picks because they’re 13-4 since Week 11.

We got back on track last week with a 3-1 finish and neat two unit profit. Good to see a course correction after our brutal Week 14. Week 15 has a plethora of home underdogs, but I chose to lean in the other direction.

Choosing four road teams seems risky, but ultimately may pay off when we take a closer look at the matchups. I’m ponying up for a two unit wager on the Sunday night game, but before we get to that, let’s review some other games that could turn another profit for us this week.
