Thailand is considered by many to be the vacation of dreams.

With its tranquil waters, inviting beaches and stunning landscapes, globetrotters have long been heading there to have a holiday of a lifetime.

Travellers go there to soak up the culture and immerse themselves in everything this beautiful country has to offer.

As well as its stunning coastal towns, Thailand is also known for its exciting city life, making it a hotspot for holidaymakers from all over the world.

Best time to visit Thailand

The best time to visit Thailand is between November and early April, as temperatures average between 32 and 36C, and there are up to nine hours of sunshine every day.

March is a particularly good time to visit because the weather is fine and it isn’t as crowded.

April is also a good time to visit, but it’s busier and you should book your accommodation early.

To make it even more appealing, some of Asia‘s most stunning beaches are in Thailand.

There’s accommodation for every budget in Thailand, from luxury spa resorts to thatched beach huts and hotels.

If you’d like to stay close to the lively capital of Bangkok, Pattaya and Koh Chang are relatively near the city and feature incredible white sands and resorts.

If you’re planning a family holiday, Pattaya is filled with family-friendly resorts and activities.

Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand and is full of hotels, miles of sandy beaches, restaurants and nightlife.

In the southern Gulf of Thailand, you’ll find luxurious beach resorts on Ko Samui, Ko Phangan, and Ko Tao islands.

Some of Thailand’s most breathtaking landscapes can be found on the beaches and islands of Krabi Province.

Hot season in Thailand

Thailand’s hottest months are March to May.

The heat really turns up during these months, and it is the best time to go if you want to avoid any rain as it remains dry.

Holidaymakers visiting at this time of year will find temperatures hitting the mid to late 30s.

Cool season in Thailand

Thailand is always going to be hot, but they do have “cooler” times of year.

If you visit during November to February temperatures don’t tend to exceed more than the early 30s and usually stay around the late 20s.

This means you can still enjoy the beaches and explore the incredible islands this country has to offer.

Monsoon season in Thailand

The rainy season is caused by the southwest monsoon that occurs from May to October.

The monsoon brings heavy rain and high humidity to most of the country, including the northern region and the west coast.

Travellers should note, the heaviest rainfall starts around September.

If you don’t mind some lighter showers, May to August is a good time to visit the country.

The monsoon season starts to ease off in early October.

Cheapest time to go to Thailand

If you’re looking for the cheapest way to get to Thailand, flights between April to June and September to October cost a lot less.

This also gives travellers a good balance between comfortable weather and cheap plane tickets.

Another good money saving tip is to book your flight at least three months in advance.
