Arrest warrants issued for Belmont Stakes robbery suspects
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Four arrest warrants have been issued for suspects identified in a reported robbery during Belmont Stakes. The suspects allegedly stole a watch from the victim's wrist.
According to the Saratoga Springs Police Department, on June 8 in the Clubhouse area of the Saratoga Racetrack, several suspects allegedly distracted the victim while another person stole the watch off the victim's wrist. The watch was reportedly worth $180,000.
During a preliminary investigation, police located a suspect and interviewed him. Over the past six months, police have been gathering information and evidence, leading to the identification of four suspects.
Alleged suspects:
- Fabio Sleigt Mancera Mayorga, age 35, St. Louis, MO
- Marco Antonio Bolivar Galvis, age 35, St. Louis, MO
- Johan Stuwar Hernandez Castillo, age 25, California
- Laura Camila Vargas Reyes, age 24, California
The four alleged suspects are wanted for two felony charges and a misdemeanor. Each faces robbery in the second degree, a class C felony; grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony; and Conspiracy in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.
According to police, two of the alleged suspects, Castillo and Reyes, were arrested in Las Vegas, NV. for their involvement in a similar incident. The Saratoga investigation, however, remains open and updates will be available as information becomes known.
