First Chick-fil-A in Albany opens
A new Chick-fil-A opened in Albany on December 5. The restaurant is at 944 Central Avenue and has dine-in, carryout, and drive-thru options from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., closed on Sundays.
Capital Region restaurant inspections: November 25-29
These are the inspections from November 25 to November 28 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website.
Rotterdam pizzeria closing for ‘undetermined amount of time’
Lucia’s Two Go, located at 404 Princetown Road in Rotterdam, is closing for “an undetermined amount of time.” The restaurant’s last day of regular service will be Saturday, December 21.
Mountain King Brewing Company opens in Windham
Mountain King Brewing Company opened its first taproom at 5351 Main Street, on Friday, November 29. The brewery offers from eight to 12 house-made beers.
Where to get dinner for the holidays in the Capital Region
There are several places where you can get your meal catered for the holidays, or even make a reservation to dine-in. Here are some Capital Region businesses offering specials for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and even New Year’s.
Albany bakery closing after two years on Lark Street
Nyx; A Scratch Baking Co., located at 290 Lark Street in Albany, is closing its doors after two years. Owner Shannon Dowen-Ronda made the announcement in a Facebook post on December 10.

Tree House Brewing Company starts beer-to-go service
The Tree House Brewing Company is now selling beer to-go at its Saratoga Springs location on Route 9 across from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The taproom however is still under construction, according to the company website.
When is Jersey Mike’s opening in Glenville?
Jersey Mike’s Subs is opening up its 12th Capital Region location in Glenville. The eatery will be located in the Mayfair Shopping Center at 262 Saratoga Road in Suite 1B.
Slidin’ Dirty relocating to Ophelia’s in Albany
Slidin’ Dirty, which recently closed its location down in Troy, is relocating to Ophelia’s on Broadway in Albany. The slider restaurant had rebranded to “Twisted Fiddler” in its final year but is now shifting back to the original name.
Thai restaurant opens new location in Clifton Park
Celadon Thai has opened a second location in Clifton Park. The restaurant at 675 Grooms Road had its soft opening on December 19.
