'House Democrats are doing something I've never seen before' amid chaos: Congress reporter
As Republicans try to work out a deal to both appease Donald Trump and fund the government, Democrats are taking unprecedented steps, according to one reporter.
House Speaker Mike Johnson and Trump have pointed the finger at Democrats, who the president-elect says will get the blame if the government shuts down.
Axios congressional reporter Andrew Solender, who previously reported on U.S. Capitol Police evacuating the Cannon House Office Building, flagged a novel notice on Democrats' Friday congressional agenda.

"House Democrats are doing something I’ve never seen before and putting their caucus meeting 'in recess subject to the call of the Chair,'" Solender reported. "Members are basically on call to return to the meeting at any point today."
Johnson has recently signaled that a vote will take place sometime on Friday.
