The cheapest item that shoppers purchase in the deal will be free.
What is better is that if you are planning a post-Christmas party or even a New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day you can still benefit.
As well as many of the items being suitable for the freezer, the deal will be running until January 2 so shoppers have plenty of time to benefit.
It was launched by Tesco on Friday with the retailer asking shoppers on Facebook: “Which of these festive mini desserts will you be reaching for first?
“Help #FeedYourChristmasSpirit with 3 for 2 on chilled party food with your #Tesco Clubcard!”
Included in the dessert range are the box of Tesco Finest 8 Salted Caramel Melt in the Middle Puddings, Tesco Finest Lemon Drizzle Cheesecake Bites, and Tesco Finest Salted Caramel and Chocolate Mini Tarts.
There is also a box of 10 Tesco Finest Winter Edition Macarons.
With many of these items priced at £5 each, shoppers can save at least £5 by using the deal.
And if sweet treats are not your thing, or you already have dessert covered, there are savoury festive bites included in the three-for-two deal as well.
Some items in the festive savoury range are the Tesco Finest 10 Tempura King Prawns, Tesco Finest 12 Mini Pies, the 12 Duck Selection, and the 6 Pigs in Blankets Yorkshire Puddings.
As well as in-store, the deal is also available online for delivery or collection until January 2.
The three-for-two festive offers are in “the majority of larger stores and online,” according to Tesco.
But, it is not in Express stores, on the Isle of Man or available via the Whoosh same-day delivery service provided by the retailer.
How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
If you want more dessert options, The Sun has previously covered the best supermarket Christmas desserts.
These include a stunning cake from Aldi that costs less than £1 per person.
The showstopper from Aldi is a giant gold coin made from a rich chocolate ganache with a biscuit base, topped with a sweet blonde mousse and caramel all wrapped in a chocolate shell.
The £6.99 dessert only hit shelves on December 21 so do not worry if you haven’t spotted it yet.
Or, if you want something more traditional, Asda has a next-level Christmas pudding for just £8.
The Exceptional Six Month Matured Luxury Jewelled Christmas Pudding Wreath is made with vine fruits, dates, and whiskey and bejewelled with glace cherries, candied figs, and almonds.
