Eamonn Holmes shares cryptic message about first Christmas without Ruth – as he makes special vow for 2025

EAMONN Holmes has posted a cryptic message as he prepares to spend his first Christmas without Ruth.

The TV presenter even made a special vow for 2025 as he looked to the future.

Eamonn was reflective a few days before Christmas as he spent a night in front of the TV.

He told his followers on X: “I’ve just been watching ‘A #Donkey for Christmas’ on @channel5_tv.

“I’m going to help even more #animal#charities in 2025 and beyond. Wickedness towards them is just so disgusting and heartbreaking.”

In the comments, an account called Dogs Trust VIP Support replied: “Great news! Happy Christmas Eamonn.”

He sent a contemplative message back saying: “Onwards and upwards. Returning that Love.”

It’s been an incredibly tough year for the former ITV star following his shock split from wife Ruth in May.

Then last week, his on-screen partnership with Isabel Webster broke down when she made a sudden exit from GB News.

Eamonn replied to a tweet about Isabel’s sudden departure, saying “Bye my girl x”.

Insiders say it was a “savage” response to Isabel’s sacking days before Christmas – as Eamonn failed to properly pay tribute to her on his social media channels.

He’s been notably quieter on X since his relationship struggles but returned in recent days to talk about football, work and animal charities.

Isabel Webster left GB News last week

Ruth and Eamonn's relationship timeline

Before the shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on UK TV – even with their signature bickering style.

1997-2002 – To be respectful to Gabrielle, the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight. Ruth told Daily Mail: “I thought it spoke volumes about the sort of man he was, the sort of father he was and the integrity he had. It made me love him more, not less.”

December 2021 – After a year of being moved to the bank holiday presenting slot, both Eamonn and Ruth left This Morning.

January 2022 – Eamonn debuted on GB News, while Ruth stayed with ITV in her long-standing role on Loose Women.
