Barclays has announced it will axe several branches across UK towns.

The banking giant is said to be closing at least seven branches in the UK after Christmas.

Barclays – which recorded around £6.5 billion profits before tax last year – will close the first set of branches in January.

It is part of a plan to close 99 sites in 2024 and 2025, according to BirminghamLive.
