- The Nationals swiped a first baseman of their own in an active market for the position, acquiring Nathaniel Lowe from the Rangers for left-hander Robert García.
- Late last night, the Mets inked left-handed starter Sean Manaea to a three-year contract.
- And in the wee hours of the morning, Joc Pederson signed a one-year deal with the Rangers.
- Also this morning, the Red Sox signed right-hander Walker Buehler to a one-year contract (pending a physical).
- Longtime first baseman/outfielder Wil Myers has announced his retirement from the sport.
- Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. and the Blue Jays are discussing a contract extension, though the first baseman says a deal will have to be reached before spring training if they want to hang onto him.
