How the holidays are impacting Topeka businesses
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Working for you, 27 News has reached out to several local businesses to see how things are going this holiday season.
Harley Cooke General Manager of Jayhawk Coins Games & More told us business has been amazing. Cooke said his business already had several customers walk through the door 15 minutes after opening.
"It's been pretty crazy in here every day," Cooke said. "We've been beating our numbers from last year."

David's Jewelers, a family-run business, reports it is probably going to be ahead of last year. Mitzi Elliot said it gets extremely busy, especially in the last few days leading up to Christmas.
"People wait until the very last minute to make their purchases so the other person doesn't see what they've been shopping for," Elliot said.
Elliot said it's common to purchase big-ticket items closer to Christmas so spouses don't see the bill on their bank statements.
"Today we're zipping right along, so we're probably going to be ahead of last year," Elliot said.
Play it Again Sports said it appreciated people shopping locally and supporting their business. Customers have been stopping by to see the newest spring sports gear.
"They're thinking ahead to what the kiddos can really use and to get more value from their money," Owner of Play It Again Sports Terica Gatewood said.
Gatewood said business has been well and on par with other years.
