DUANESBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Schenectady County Sheriff's Office is investigating a three-car crash that happened at the intersection of Route 20 and Route 30 in Duanesburg. One of the drivers was seriously injured in the crash.
The crash happened on December 22 around 7:10 p.m., said the Sheriff's Office. A Honda Civic traveling on Route 20 allegedly ran a red light, hitting a Honda Pilot on Route 30. The Honda Civic then hit a Chevrolet SUV which was stopped at the traffic light on Route 20.
The driver of the Honda Civic was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. They were ticketed for unsafe speed and disobeying a traffic light, said the Sheriff's Office. Two of the four people in the Chevrolet were treated at the hospital for minor injuries, while the driver of the Honda Pilot was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A dog was reportedly thrown from one of the cars due to the force of the crash. Witnesses said the dog ran off. The dog, a Chinese Shar-Pei Lab, is named Lilo and has yellow and gold fur and a curly tail. The dog is two years old, about 50 pounds, and has no collar on. The Sheriff's Office said the dog is a rescue, skittish, and has a grain allergy.
